45th Annual Museum BBQ:
Please save this date; Saturday May 14, 2011.

Our theme this year is "Survival in the Desert."

Talks and displays will feature a variety of common and uncommon facets of desert survival.

The day will be fun and entertaining and will include dinner, Opportunity Drawing, gold panning, blacksmith demonsttrations, carding and weaving demonstrations, and much more.

Archaeology 53B Field Trip

March 26 & April 9 & 10, 2011
This is a Barstow College field trip to the upper Mojave River, Horse Thief Canyon and the Cajon Pass: Orientation at the museum, March 26 from 7pm to 9:50pm. The class and field trip are on April 9 and 10 with an overnight in the Cajon Pass.

Students will camp at Muscupiabit, an old Indian Village (or for sissies, a motel) in the Cajon Pass. Instructor is Clifford J. Walker and the class costs $26 for one unit or participants may audit the class for no credit.

Desert Symposium
