Archaeology 50:
Archaeology of the Soda Springs Area: Barstow College , Field trip to Zzyzx, dig for turquoise at ancient mines, sleep at a ghost town, see rock art. Native American agave roasting pit, lava tube and more. One unit credit for about $26;

Family Legacy Workshop:
Saturday, March 20, from 3 to 5 pm, the Barstow Library will present author Linda Weaver Clarke with this workshop. There is no charge and everyone is welcome.
Annual Desert Symposium:
April 23 thru 26, 2010, at Zzyzx." 18 Million Years of Lakes and Wetlands," focusing on lakes and rivers of the ancient Mojave Desert.
44th Annual Museum BBO and Open House:
Saturday, May 15. For 43 years between 60 and 90 people have been working each year at our Annual Museum BBQ. This year we will have speakers on the glory days of desert mining, local war heroes who paid the ultimate price for protecting our country, and the Grand Opening of our new old log cabin blacksmith shop with a blacksmith working and demonstrating, even offering to make a few tools for the public.
If you would like to be a part of the Volunteer BBQ Crew, call 760-256-5452 and sign up. We could use your help and you will probably enjoy it.
Desert Explorers All trips require a 4-wheel drive vehicle and a working CB.

March 19 through 21 at Death Valley Junction. We will be visiting Kingston Wash and the Kingston Mountains on the 19th, China Ranch Date Farm, Echo Canyon, Schwab Ghost Town, Deadman Pass, and Gold Valley on the 20th.
